Seeking additional exposure to and expertise in Dr. Greene's approach? Whether you're a clinician, educator, or parent, you have many training options. If you're relatively new to the model, the one-day Introductory trainings (posted at the bottom of this page) are usually a good place to start (and many can be viewed live via the web). If you're ready for the next level, there are Advanced and Certification trainings to help you further develop and enhance your skills. And if you're interested in having the entire staff trained in the model in your school, inpatient psychiatry unit, therapeutic group home, or residential or juvenile detention facility, you'll want to check out the possibilities for ongoing consultation and training provided by CPSInitiative.
SPECIAL TRAININGS FOR PARENTS (co-sponsored by Lives in the Balance):
Lives in the Balance -- the non-profit devoted to advocating on behalf of behaviorally challenging kids and their caregivers and to providing free resources on the model -- often sponsors special trainings for parents. There are two coming up in Maine (in collaboration with G.E.A.R. Parent Network): one in Waterville on Wednesday evening, September 25, and one in Portland on Saturday morning, October 19. Just click for details.
ADVANCED TRAININGS FOR CLINICIANS AND EDUCATORS
Advanced Trainings for Educators and Clinicians are conducted by Dr. Greene in a group format, and provide participants with additonal exposure to and instruction in key facets of the model, video examples of its application, and model updates. These trainings are offered in various locations in North America and abroad throughout the year. The advanced trainings are for those who have had some prior exposure to the model, often through attendance at one of Dr. Greene’s one-day introductory trainings, as well as for those who have already attended a prior advanced training and have been actively applying the model in clinical work or in a treatment or education setting.
Here are the advanced trainings currently scheduled for the remainder of 2013 and early 2014. Additional trainings for 2014 will be added as details are finalized.

CERTIFICATION TRAININGS FOR CLINICIANS AND EDUCATORS
Certification Trainings provide a highly individualized training experience geared toward ensuring proficiency in applying the model and training others.
Certification for Providers: This course provides supervised practice and feedback aimed at developing proficiency in the application of the model in clinicians, educators, and other providers who work directly with challenging youth and their caregivers. Registration is limited to 10 participants per training. Participants audiotape their use of the model with actual kids and their caregivers and receive weekly feedback from Dr. Greene on their application of the model. Supervision and feedback are provided in 24 weekly, 90-minute group teleconference supervision sessions. Prerequisite: prior attendance at one of Dr. Greene’s Level 1 advanced trainings and access to a sufficient number of kids and caregivers to permit audio-taping of the use of the model over time. The certification trainings commence every September. Contact the sponsor, the REACH Institute at 212-947-7322 to reserve your place for 2013...or download the registration form HERE.
Certification for Trainers: This course provides certification in training others in the model. Participants receive instruction from Dr. Greene on effectively presenting the model to groups and handling the questions and misconceptions that can arise in those learning about the model. Participants videotape practice presentations in front of live groups and receive direct coaching and feedback. Proficiency is assessed continuously throughout the training. This training is open only to those who have already successfully completed the Certification for Providers.
Dr. Greene's one-day introductory trainings are an outstanding way to get started on learning about the model, and below is a partial listing of upcoming trainings. If he's not speaking in your area, the trainings marked with an asterisk can be viewed live from any location via the web. Or, if you prefer to have your own copy of the introductory training, you can order a DVD from PESI. The workshops listed below vary in length and there may be an admission charge to attend, depending on the sponsor of each seminar. (If you're interested in having Dr. Greene speak to or for your group or organization, just use the Contact form on this website.)
